(Women's Perspective Please) Is Valentines Day ONLY for women?

I've heard from some that they think it is only to give gifts to or honor women. I personally thought it has been to honor "love" between both sexes.

    I don't think it's only for women. I work hard on my gift for my boyfriend on Valentines day, and I expect the same from him. It's to honor love, not women.

    I think that's an unfair aspect of the holiday… It should be to honour both people in the relationship, though it seems to be centered around the man honouring the woman. I personally don't like the holiday, I don't see the point, but if it's to be celebrated at all, of course both partners should be honoured equally. :)
