Im going to ask out my crush on valentines day. Ideas?

This girl and I have been talking to each other for a month and a half now and we both know each other pretty well. We also know that we like each other. So we are, so-called, "hooked up" but not officially dating. I am going to ask her to go steady on valentines day. and I want to ask her with a letter. Is this a good idea? Also, any ideas of anything I can put in it? or any ideas for things to do?
